Paint Party

Last night we had so much fun celebrating my good friend's birthday with a paint party.
Amanda Roberson from Montgomery came over and brought one of her angel pictures for us to paint.

The appetizers were great.

And the decorations were cute.

I wish I had gotten pictures before we started painting.  Halfway through I picked up a paper towel that I thought was clean, but it had white paint on it and it got all over my black top.  We threw it in the washing machine real quick and I changed into a t-shirt- good as new!

And here we are with our finished products!

I love to paint.  I think I should start doing it more often!

Have a wonderful day, y'all!!

New Shoes and a Haircut

Today was a fun day of letting this little boy play outside and have fun.  As most children do, he loves playing outside!  He and Harvey roll around in the leaves together.  I hope they don't get ticks!

Last week I bought him his first pair of tennis shoes.  It was a little sad for me to transition from those white high tops that he wore at the beginning stage of walking.  Not because those shoes are stylish, but it symbolized the passing of the little baby stage.

He is pretty much in full on running mode now, I wanted to get him more of a play shoe.  He is so proud of his new shoes and he lifts his foot to show them to people.

It was already time for his second haircut and I couldn't stand that hair in his eyes much longer.  I'm sure he felt the same way!

Showing off his pre-haircut hair and in a good mood.

Waiting in the waiting room.

But, the mood quickly changed when things got started.

Poor little guy was terrified but thankfully suckers were close by.  If one sucker is good, then two is great, right?

And of course, paci was close by too.

I don't ever want to forget these moments of Foster being little.  I'm really grateful for this little ol' blog.

"Laissez Les Bon Temps Roulez"

I've never actually been to Mardi Gras but I love all the festivities and parties to celebrate it.  I'm sure I'd love to go- minus all the craziness.

Last Tuesday night the youth group hosted a Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper.  This used to be an annual fundraiser that I wanted to get back into place.

I didn't manage to get a group picture of everybody together, but I did get a few individuals.

They all did so good making pancakes, scrambling eggs and frying bacon.

It's also nice to have extra hands to help with Foster!

The teens had a great fundraiser and made lost of money for trips.

After the pancake supper, I wiped pancake batter off my face, changed clothes real quickly and met Wood at a newcomers party to celebrate all the new people in town- and a good excuse to get together.

You've probably heard me say that I love living in a small town.  It has been fun lately because right around the time we moved here, so did a lot of other young families.

Heather, me and Maggie Scott posing with masks...

I honestly don't know who this is, but he's an NFL player for the Bengals and he's from Selma.  I felt like such a dork asking to get my picture with him, but I wanted to share that he was there too.

We had a good time and then the next day was the beginning of Lent.
I LOVE this time of year as we anticipate Easter!

Alabama Shakes

Have you heard the Alabama Shakes yet?  I just found them and I love it!  You don't hear music like this much these days and its so good.  The sound is so reminiscent of Janis Joplin.

And the coolest part- they're from Athens, AL!  I hear they are going to be at the Hangout Music Festival in Gulf Shores this year.  Maybe W and I can work it out to go again.

Have you heard them before?  Did you catch them on Conan?

And we Dance Dance Dance!

Not a day goes by that Foster is not dancing and absolutely loving all things music.  He will break it down in a second!  I had just gotten my hands on a new worship cd and we were listening to it in the car.

I saw in the rearview mirror that he was really into it, so I turned it up and starting recording.  My favorite part is when he sticks out his tongue and squeals- so funny!

I hope y'all are having a wonderful week.  I have been a busy-bee, as usual!

Give to the Lord the glory due his name.  Bring an offering and come before him; worship the Lord in the splendor of His holiness.   - 1 Chron. 16:29
